The Advantech EKI-2000 and EKI-7000 series of Industrial Ethernet solutions offer a wide range of transmission media options, including: copper, fiber optic and wireless. Data transmission rates can range from 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps to 1000Mbps, making the process of manufacturing data not just available at the field level, but also seamlessly integrated into higher-level data acquisition systems. Advantech’s EKI-7000 series X-Ring technology offers the fastest redundant ring recovery time (<10ms) to secure data communication and reliability. Furthermore, the robust design, DIN-rail mounting and +12~48 VDC redundant power inputs make EKI-2000/7000 suitable for rugged industrial applications.

EKI-6311G is an IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless Access Point/Client Bridge that allows users to configure it as either an Access Point or Client Bridge depending on application needs. EKI-6311G is designed to expand wireless capabilities in existing wired networking architectures, providing a convenient, long distance and cost-effective Wireless Access Point or Client Bridge.
Serial Device Servers

EKI-1000 Serial Device Servers enable RS-232/422/485 serial devices to be dual-connected to Ethernet switches for unrivaled reliability. No extra programming effort is required at the host computer, so software development costs can be saved. These Serial Device Servers provide various redundant configuration types and multi-access configurations for remotely controlling and monitoring serial devices via Ethernet. Furthermore, they fulfill various needs through rich operation modes, such as; COM port redirection, and TCP&UDP server/client.

Advantech’s Multiport Serial Cards are designed to accommodate multiple high performance peripherals for field devices that use the RS-232/422/485 serial communication protocol. Each card requires only one PCI or ISA slot to provide independent serial channels. With industrial-grade protection, Advantech multiport serial cards help to avoid system damage in harsh environments.

Most industrial computer systems come with standard RS-232 serial ports. Though widely accepted, RS-232 has limited transmission speed, range and networking capabilities. The RS-422/485 standards overcome these limitations by using differential voltage lines for data and control signals. The Serial Media Converters provide conversion between serial networks and other media. They can transparently convert RS-232 signals to RS-422/485 signals, as well as wireless and fiber optic signals.
